AGM 20 June 2013

12/6/2013

Dear All,

The HMS 2013 agenda is attached together with last year's minutes and the draft Operational Plan 2013 - 15.

The AGM will be held in the new building at Inverness Marina and will start at 7 PM (not 7:30 as previously advised).

This will be Jane Campbell Morrison's last appearance at HMS - she leaves RYA Scotland after 16 years at the end of the month to take-up her new role as the Chief Executive for Snowsport Scotland on 1 July (see: http://www.snowsportscotland.org/news/show/179). The intention is to take Jane out to dinner after the meeting which should conclude no later than 8:30 PM.

Please respond to chairman@hmsailing.co.uk to let me know:

1 - if you will be attending the AGM
2 - if you will not be attending the AGM but your organization will send another delegate
3 - if you must offer apologies on behalf of you organization

And finally, if you are interested in joining Jane & me for a meal after the meeting (the location is undecided at the moment and to some extent will depend upon the numbers interested).

Thank you,

Richard Jenner
Chairman HMS

NoSDC  17th September, Loch Morlich
Date and venue now set. Full details to follow

There has been lots happening in HMS, Squad sailing, Open Race Training, a very successful sailing seminar at RFYC and much more. There is a lot going on with HMS and we really want your club/organisation to be part of it.

And finally a quick introduction and small request from me, Simon Paterson.

I have taken the position of  RYA Scotland Sailing Development Group Coordinator for HMS and NESS (North East Scotland Sailing)  There will be free cake to anyone who can come up with a more catchy title!

In  this position I will provide support for HMS and a build on the strong link to RYA Scotland that already exists . If there is anything I can help you with please contact me as below.

For those who don't know me, my background is almost all boat related from Kayaks to Yachts. I am principal of 2 RYA Centres, Findhorn Marina and Highland Marine Training both in the HMS area. I also run the non RYA parts of Findhorn Marina with my wife Katrina.

I specialise in Power boating and am an RYA Powerboat Trainer. However not to worry I am also a keen RYA instructor in Dinghy, Keelboat, VHF, Sea Survival, Diesel Engine, Shore based Theory and  (Don't shoot me) PWC. So as you can see Boating and RYA are a big part of what I do.

My first target is to makes sure that I have the correct contact details for every club/organisation so please confirm by email to me at sdg1@ryascotland.org.uk
  • if that's you,
  • if you wish anyone else to receive HMS emails as well as or instead of you
  • or if its not you and you do not wish to be contacted again.
Please contact

Thanks and I look forward to meeting you all at the up coming HMS events.

Simon Paterson
