Welcome to
Highland & Moray Sailing

Highland & Moray Sailing (HMS) is the new organisation representing the interests of sailing in all of its forms in the Highland and Moray Council areas; i.e. sailors, powerboaters, windsurfers and sailing organisations.  It is being expanded from the club based Gaidhealtachd Sailing (GS) to include youth uniformed groups (Sea Cadets & Sea Scouts) and commercial organisations.

The launch of this group took place on Saturday 27th February, at the Spectrum Centre in Inverness, in the form of a full day ‘Successful Sailing’ Seminar covering a number of different aspects of our sport; the programme can be downloaded from the link at the foot of the page.

We wish you all the best for 2010, and look forward to hearing from you should you have any questions or suggestions.  We want to hear from you so please use either the Contact HMS page to do that or the Forum page to communicate with the HMS network of sailors.

The University of Aberdeen has been granted licences from Marine Scotland and the UK Marine Management Organisation to install 79 moorings throughout the Moray Firth.  The moorings will hold research equipment that records echolocation clicks of dolphins and porpoises.  The document published below provides details via a map and a table with the locations of these moorings.
